Persepolis

     In the story Persepolis, all the women have to wear a veil. All the women have to wear a veil, and I think that they have to because they aren't given the same rights as men. Their abilities are limited, and they can't do the same things that guys do. I think that Marjane wants to be a prophet because if people believe that she is a prophet, they will do what she says. She believes in communism, and she wants everyone to be the same. In the story, Marjane mentions people like Che Guevara and Fidel Castro. Those two people are communists, and like I just said she believes in that. She thinks that poeple should be in one social class, not divided. that's why she doesn't like that her dad has a Cadilac, and that her maid can't eat at the table with them. Marjane's relationship with God is complicated. Sometimes she wants to talk to God, sometimes she does, and sometimes she doesn't want to.

Six Word Memoir Final Draft

Grow up? Um, no thank you...

          I honestly have no image to go with this six word memoir. I just can't think of anything that would make sense with it. The reason I put this is because I'm not very fond of the idea of growing up. I'm not saying I can't take care of myself, it's just that being a kid is so simple why would anybody wanna give it up? I mean, you don't pay bills, you don't work for eight hours a day, and your only real priority is school. I don't like the idea of dying either, and dying is usually associated with old age, so yeah. If I had to choose a picture, I would seriously just put a black background with white letters, cause I really don't know what would work with it. Either that or I will go with something last second. Maybe something like a tombstone or something that symbolizes death. But other than that yeah, I don't wanna be an adult.

Whale Rider

I have like, mixed feelings about the movie Whale Rider. It's kind of weird, and hard to keep up with. If you miss just a little bit of the movie, then you might as well not watch because you'll be more lost than ever. But on the other hand, I understand why people like it and how people think it's a good movie. It's kind of inspirational or whatever because her grandpa kind of hates her but in the end he likes her. He didn't like her because she was a girl, and he thought that only boys should be leaders. So yeah, I guess it was a good movie, but I personally didn't enjoy as I would've another movie.

basketball

Recently, I have been getting into basketball. My favorite sport used to be soccer but I realized that I like basketball more. Since I used to live in Los Angeles, obviously my favorite basketball team is the Los Angeles Lakers, and obviously my favorite player is Kobe Bryant. But recently, the Lakers have been making moves, be it on the court, or through trades that have been freaking infuriating. Like today, there is a valid rumor that says the Lakers are seriously considering signing Rasheed Wallace. That means that they will have about four small forwards. With Sheed, they would be the best defensive team ever... if it was 2005. Ron Artest and Sheed are way past their primes, and are more of a hindrance than a help. They have to sign a point guard,  because 37-year old Derek Fisher just can't keep up anymore. All the moves that management are making just seem to be pissing me off even more. I miss the Laker team that was a force to be reckoned with, and not looked at as a joke to the rest of the league. But I guess as a fan all that I can do is wait.
